Prof Ashu Verma

Dr. Ashu Verma has seventeen years of experience in power system operation, analysis and optimization. Her special interests lie in understanding and tackling the challenges of large scale integration of RE sources and Electric Vehicles to future electric grids specifically in Indian context. She received her B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Hamirpur in 2001, M.Tech in Power Systems from IIT Delhi in 2002 and Ph.D. in Transmission Expansion Planning from Electrical Engineering Department, IIT Delhi in 2010.

She has received K.S. Prakasa Rao memorial award for getting highest CGPA among power system group at IIT, Delhi and Honors degree from NIT Hamirpur with first position in the class. She joined Department of Energy Science and Engineering formerly known as Centre for Energy Studies as Assistant Professor in 2012. Before joining IIT Delhi as Faculty member she worked in various Institutes/Industry across the country. In the Department of Energy Science and Engineering she has been uiding master's and Ph.D. students in the area of renewable energy and Electrical Power Systems and taught various courses such as Operation and Control of Electrical Energy Systems,Electrical Energy Management, Electrical Energy Conservation and Management, Power System Analysis and Optimization.
