Who Can Apply for Undergraduate Programs at IITD-AD?
The following four broad categories of students can apply:
- UAE Nationals
- Indian expatriates with 5 years of schooling in UAE (grades 8-12)
- International students (non-UAE Nationals and non-Indians)
- Indian Nationals

How Can I Apply to Study at IITD-AD?
Admissions can be through the Combined Entrance Admission Test (CAET) or JEE (Advanced) depending on your category:
- CAET is for UAE Nationals, Indian expatriates with 5 years of schooling in UAE, and International students.
- Indian Nationals must qualify JEE (Advanced) 2025 and apply through the JoSAA Seat Allocation Portal.

What is CAET 2025? Who Can Appear in It?
CAET 2025 stands for Combined Admission Entrance Test 2025. It is an entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programs (Bachelor of Technology) at IIT Delhi – Abu Dhabi campus for:
- UAE Nationals
- Indian expatriates who have studied grades 8-12 in the UAE
- International students (non-Indians and non-UAE Nationals)
What is JEE Advanced 2025? Who Can Appear in It?
JEE Advanced 2025 is an entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for admission to IITs in India. Indian nationals who qualify JEE Main and are among the top 250,000 ranks can appear. Non-Indian nationals do not need to appear in JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
What Subjects Do I Need to Prepare for CAET 2025?
CAET 2025 has three subject parts: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Syllabus can be downloaded here. Scoring in all three is mandatory.
When Will CAET 2025 Be Held?
CAET 2025 will be held twice:
- Session 1: Sunday, February 16, 2025
- Session 2: Sunday, April 13, 2025
Candidates may appear in one or more sessions. Examinations will be held in the UAE and India in one or more cities. Details will be available on the CAET website.
Is There an Application Fee for CAET 2025?
Yes, a non-refundable registration fee of US $100 (excluding transaction charges) per session is required.
What Are the Eligibility Criteria for CAET 2025?
- Nationality: UAE Nationals, Indian expatriates with 5 years of UAE schooling, and International students.
- Board Exam Marks: Minimum 75% marks in at least two subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and 80% aggregate marks in the class XII board examination.
- Age: Born on or after October 1, 2000 (relaxation applicable).
- Number of Attempts: Maximum two attempts in consecutive years.
- Prior Admission to IIT: Should not have been admitted to any IIT earlier.
